This piece is a "La Immaculada" Virgin Mary Polychromed Santos Figural Carving - Religious Figural wooden carving of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Immaculate Conception). Carved in folkloric style, with polychrome paint and eyes of glass. The Virgin as the "Immaculada" (conceived in immaculate purity), is posed on the globe of the world, in triumph over sin, represented by the serpent that tempted Eve with a forbidden apple. The figurine is approximately 17.5" tall.
Wear is consistent with age. Two fingers are missing. Retains most of its original coat of polychrome paint.
